WWII Re-enactors, Artifacts, Event US Planes Flyover
WHEN: Saturday, August 12 10am – 4pm; Planes Flyovers begin at 12pm
WHERE: Battleship New Jersey, 100 Clinton Street, Camden, NJ
WHAT: Guests visiting the Battleship New Jersey today, Saturday, August 12, can experience WWII artifacts, re-enactors, and
WWII-era US planes flyovers and gun salutes. All free to with the purchase of a tour of the Battleship.
The Battleship will also have a special presentation on the surrender of the Japanese by Battleship Curator Ryan Szymanski
on the 01 starboard deck, outside the Captain’s Cabin, where the Japanese signed the surrender documents on the USS Missouri
to end the War in the Pacific. To attend Ryan’s presentation, which will take place at 11am, we ask for a $5 donation in addition
to a tour.
Guests will have the opportunity to fire a salute from our Quad 40 and 5-inch portside guns after WWII US planes do several
fly overs at 12pm. For a donation of $500, you can fire a salute from the 5-inch gun and we’re offer two chances to fire salutes
from the Quad 40 guns for a $250 donation per salute.
All WWII activities aboard the Battleship are free with the purchase of a tour of the ship. Self-guided tours launch from 10am
to 4pm and our guided tour will launch at 12pm – just after the plane flyovers!
