Red Cross Kicks Off Red Cross Month This Sunday Onboard Battleship New Jersey March 3, 2023

The American Red Cross New Jersey Region will be holding a ceremony and flag raising onboard the Battleship New Jersey to kick off

March is Red Cross Month in New Jersey. The Battleship New Jersey will fly the Red Cross flag throughout March to honor all those who

have made the humanitarian mission of the Red Cross possible.

 

March has been recognized as Red Cross Month for 80 years. Beginning with President Franklin D. Roosevelt in 1943, every U.S. President

has designated March as Red Cross Month to recognize how the American Red Cross helps people across the country and around the world.

12:15 p.m. – Side gun salute

*Media wishing to cover the flag raising should arrive by 10:45 a.m. to allow time to get to that specific area of the ship. Otherwise, the

ceremony on board the deck of the ship begins at 11:30 a.m.
