FLAG DAY INFORMATIONAL CEREMONY WILL RETIRE AND EXPLAIN THE PROCESS
OF RETIRING OLD AND TATTERED US FLAGS AT THE BATTLESHIP
WHEN: Flag Day, Tuesday, June 14 12pm
WHAT: On Flag Day, June 14, the Battleship will host a ceremony to properly retire
tattered and old US flags. The Battleship will accept your old tattered flags during this
ceremony, which will take place landside just outside the pier at 12pm. Learn the proper
way that a tattered US flag is to be retired and the meaning behind these procedures.
To replace your old flag, consider purchasing a flag from the Battleship Ship’s Store. We’ll
even fly the flag above the Battleship. Just a $62 donation for a flag flown over the ship. To
order a flag to be flown above the Battleship, visit our Ship’s Store daily during Battleship
tour hours of 10am to 4pm every day, or online at www.battleshipnewjersey.org/shop or
call 866-877-6262 ext. 111.
The Battleship will give away mini US flags to guests touring the Battleship on Flag Day.
Just stop by the ship’s Visitors Center when you come off the ship.

Berthed on the Camden Waterfront along the Delaware River, the Battleship New Jersey
Museum and Memorial is open every day from 19am to 4pm for tours. Experience the
amazing views of the July 4th fireworks from the historic decks of the Battleship. Live
music, face painting, food concessions, bar service and even take a chance to fire the
portside 5-inch gun! The Battleship will open on Sunday, July 4 for fireworks at 7pm. Just a
