Third Annual Admiral Halsey Awards Dinner

The Battleship New Jersey Museum and Memorial will hold the third annual Admiral Halsey Awards Dinner on Thursday, June 13, 2024, in beautiful Currents Ballroom in Adventure Aquarium. In addition to honoring three exemplary individuals and enjoying a delicious dinner, open bar, and live entertainment, guests at the event can experience hundreds of amazing fish and nearly 30 sharks!

For this year’s dinner, Event Chairs, The Honorable Patricia Egan Jones and Captain Walt Urban, USN (Ret.), are proud to announce that the awards, named for Fleet Admiral William F. Halsey, Jr., will recognize major contributions to the areas of business, military service and public service.

The award for business leadership honors an individual who leads with integrity, a strong sense of community and whose direction has made their organization a leader in the Delaware River region. This year’s award honors John J. O’Donnell, CEO, The Michaels Organization
The Halsey Military Service award honors a service member whose commitment to the ideals of the U.S. military is reflected both in their career and their service to others. The award for military service will be presented to Rear Admiral Karen Flaherty-Oxler, USN (Ret.)
The third award will recognize the innovation, creative achievements and contributions of public sector leaders who strive to improve all aspects of the Delaware River region. This year’s awardee for public service is Senator Nilsa Cruz-Perez, D-Camden.

All proceeds from this event will go to the Battleship New Jersey Museum and Memorial to continue museum operations and educational programs.
