Join Battleship educators for a socially distanced day of learning aboard the Big J!
On Wednesday, March 24, at 9am, students and their parents can experience a guided tour of the Battleship and a classroom-style lesson. This two-hour session will talk about some of the technology added to the ship over her 50 years of service, including both kinds of drones that the ship worked with. Students will learn the basics of circuitry and then be challenged to create their own small robot capable of traveling on its own. The tour will focus on the changes made to the ship over the years and will visit the early Anti-aircraft guns as well as the 1980s computers. This program is appropriate for all school-aged children.
- Adults are required to stay with children for their entire visit.
- All guests must pass a health screening which includes a contactless temperature check, wear a face covering and practice social distancing of six feet at all times.
