Over 40 candidates will be sworn in as new citizens of the United States during a ceremony on the forecastle (forward deck) at 10am on Wednesday, July 4.
Con. Donald Norcross (D-NJ 1st District) and New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy will offer remarks, while U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services will administer the Oath of Allegiance to America’s newest citizens during this special ceremony aboard our nation’s most decorated battleship on Independence Day.
Past citizenship candidates originated from countries from throughout the globe, including Argentina, Bangladesh, Brazil, Bulgaria, Cameroon, Canada, China, Czech Republic, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Egypt, France, Germany, Haiti, India, Italy, Jamaica, Liberia, Mexico, Norway, Pakistan, Philippines, Poland, Portugal,Turkey, United Kingdom and Vietnam.
The ceremony is free to attend.
