Little Lights by the Edison Foundation @ Battleship New Jersey
Did you know that Thomas Edison was awarded a Navy Distinguished Service Medal? In the inaugural Little Lights by the Edison Foundation, we are learning about the electric telegraph.
Our latest exhibit, USS New Jersey: Past, Present and Future, will be our focus for this 90 minute program where we will look at how the original USS New Jersey, BB16 from 1906 – 1920 communicated. This program is designed for preschoolers and their families, and includes a tour of the new exhibit and a hands on activity of how to use a telegraph.
The activity will take place in the Officers’ Wardroom beginning at 10am on Jan. 11.  Free with ticketed admission. Pre-Registration highly suggested, space is limited: L.Jones@BattleshipNewJersey.org

Memorial Day Facebook Live Ceremony from the Battleship @ Battleship New Jersey

The Battleship New Jersey Museum and Memorial will remember our military heroes who gave

the ultimate sacrifice for our nation with a Facebook Live ceremony on Memorial Day, Monday,

May 25 at 10am.

The Memorial Day ceremony will feature an overview on the history and significance of Memorial

Day by Battleship Curator, Ryan Szimanski, and a talk on what Memorial Day means by Army

veteran and Director of Accounting for the Battleship, Mike Hayes.  The ceremony will end with

the casting of a memorial wreath onto the Delaware River.

Since the Battleship remains closed for tours due to the coronavirus, the ceremony will be shown

on Facebook Live at www.facebook.com/BattleshipNJ
