The ship’s Curatorial staff will take members “behind the scenes” to areas not on the regular tour routes that could include: the secondary conn on the 08 Level, After Steering, Wardroom galley, and After Diesel. Members Night takes place the second weekend of every month.
This special tour is free for members but registration is required by February 15 and space is limited.
Jan 11 @ 10:00 am – 3:00 pm
Did you know that Thomas Edison was awarded a Navy Distinguished Service Medal? In the inaugural Little Lights by the Edison Foundation, we are learning about the electric telegraph.
Our latest exhibit, USS New Jersey: Past, Present and Future, will be our focus for this 90 minute program where we will look at how the original USS New Jersey, BB16 from 1906 – 1920 communicated. This program is designed for preschoolers and their families, and includes a tour of the new exhibit and a hands on activity of how to use a telegraph.
The activity will take place in the Officers’ Wardroom beginning at 10am on Jan. 11. Free with ticketed admission. Pre-Registration highly suggested, space is limited: L.Jones@BattleshipNewJersey.org
