Experience the unique Light Art work of world-renowned Swiss Light Artist Gerry Hofstetter and his daughter, Céline Hofstetter. of
Hofstetter Inc., Los Angeles. A free show with Light Art projected onto the Battleship will take place on Sunday, Oct. 8 from 7pm to 9pm.

Guests can experience the unique light designs from the pier and promenade. The Light Art Show will take place rain or shine!

The “Light Art Grand Tour USA” will feature one U.S. monument/landmark per state and for one night project a free public light art performance for around 2 hours to highlight the friendship between US and Switzerland. The pioneering spirit of the “Light Art Grand Tour USA” characterizes America’s history. The monuments featured in this extraordinary Light Art Tour will recall the history surrounding each individual location. Each one is an important piece in the jigsaw puzzle making up the founding of the United States of America and plays a role in fostering friendships with other countries, including Switzerland.

The show is made possible by donations from former Chairperson of the Board of Trustees and Assemblywoman Patricia Jones and former Chairman of the Board and current Chairman of the Curatorial and Education Committee Dennis Levitt.

Comcast Cares Day Aboard the Battleship @ Battleship New Jersey | Camden | New Jersey | United States
Employees from Comcast offices in the Philadelphia area will spend Friday, April 20 at the Battleship — not to take a tour, but rather to volunteer to paint, chip, clean, landscape, and more on and around the ship.
Last year, several hundred Comcast employees helped the Battleship with several projects, including moving the mooring lines off the pier.
The board, staff and volunteers of the Battleship salutes and thanks all Comcast employees for volunteering to help the Big J!

Hands On History: Adm. Reason and Ensign Ivey @ Battleship New Jersey
Feb 1 @ 9:30 am – Feb 29 @ 3:00 pm
Hands On History: Adm. Reason and Ensign Ivey @ Battleship New Jersey

The Battleship will honor Ensign Louis Ivey and Admiral Paul Reason for Hands On History in February.

Ensign Ivey was initially assigned to the boiler division. Visitors can hold a fuel nozzle from one of the ship’s boiler rooms. One of those boiler rooms is on the Engineering Steam to Speed Tour that launches every Saturday and Sunday at 11:00. Ivey was later the division officer for the New Jersey’s radiomen, so we have a Gibson Girl Radio like the one that would have been on the ship with Ivey during the 1950s.

Admiral Reason, who led Battle Group Romeo from the Battleship in the 1980s, later wrote a book called Sailing New Seas about naval tactics that visitors can look through. The cruisebook from 1989 that includes Reason, is also on display.
