All veterans are invited to attend a special ceremony to remember the anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor, presented by the Camden and Gloucester County Freeholders, at 10:30am on Friday, Dec. 9.
The ceremony, which will take place on the fantail (tented rear deck) of the Battleship, will feature keynote remarks by Con. Donald Norcross, 1st District, NJ, musical performances by Eastern High School Band, singer Maria DiSciullo, and bugler Greg Murphy, a 21 Gun Salute by Marine Corps League 1775 Detachment, salutes to veterans and a wreath presentation to remember those killed in the Pearl Harbor attack. See the stars, planets and satellites through telescopes on the forecastle (forward deck) of the Battleship during this free event. Parking on Clinton St. will also be free.
The Battleship New Jersey will participate in the annual Philadelphia Science Festival’s Citywide Star Party on Friday evening, April 20. The ship’s forecastle (forward deck) will open at 7pm for guests to check out the skies above with a professional astronomer. Past years, guests got to see Saturn, Jupiter and an array of stars through telescopes.
We’ll offer some snacks and beverages for guests to purchase during this free event!
Free parking is available along Clinton St., which is on the access road that runs behind the BB&T Pavilion.
