Atco Battles Alzheimer’s 5 will bring together 5 top local bands and more than 300 people for a day of music, education, raffles and fun on board the historic Battleship New Jersey. Bands include Goodman Fiske, the Juliano Brothers, the Blitz, Juicy and 99 Reasons. There will be food and drink available on board. Each ticket sold includes a self-guided walking tour of the Battleship.
Tickets are available at EventBrite.com (keyword: Atco). Tickets are $20 from Dec.1 through Jan. 31, and $25 after that. Parking is free.

On Friday, April 19, families can enjoy a special price for a Fire Power Tour of the Battleship. Just $50 for families of three or four* from 10am to 2pm.
Plus, we’ll have face painting, temporary tattoos and balloon creations, performed by Bonbon’s Parties and Events, for all kids in the Wardroom, part of the Fire Power Tour!
Our Curatorial staff will also have a special electricity display to show kids how the ship generated electricity.
And pre-school children can play in the new Jason’s Kids Kompartment, presented by Lockheed Martin. Try on military uniform, captain the boat, play cook in the play galley and more!

The Building History activity for April will be “Making Radios.” This program, free to experience with the purchase of any tour of the Battleship, will take place on Saturday, April 20 from noon to 2pm in the Officers’ Wardroom. Join the Battleship’s Curator, Ryan Symanski, as he’ll lead guests in playing with the components of small radios. Guests will have the opportunity to put components together to make a simple radio.

For the first time, guests can experience this 90-minute guided tour of the Battleship’s engine room. Battleship
guides will show guests where the ship’s engineers controlled the boilers, propulsion shafts, damage control
central and more. Learn how the Battleship achieved up to 33 knots, or 38 mph.
This interactive tour will launch at 1pm on Saturdays and Sundays, beginning Saturday, April 20. The price is
$29.95 for adults and $25.95 for children age 6 – 11, veterans and seniors. The Battleship recommends
purchasing tickets in advance online at www.battleshipnewjersey.org or by calling 866-877-6262 ext. 108.

Due to the weather, we will not be viewing the stars and planets from the forecastle of the Battleship tonight.
However, we will we will have an education program on navigation using ships artifacts like the sextant, pelorus, and boat compass. Celestial navigation will be a component of the program and we will use circuit blocks to show how the gyroscopic compasses worked. This free event will take place inside in the Officers’ Wardroom.
We’ll also have some snacks and soft drinks for purchase and parking along Clinton St. is also free.

The Battleship New Jersey thanks Camden police, fire and EMT personnel for their services to the community. On Sunday, April 28, Camden public service personnel and their families can enjoy a complimentary tour of the Battleship throughout the day from 9:30am to 3pm.
We’ll also provide a free lunch, courtesy of Mission BBQ, on the fantail from 12pm to 3pm.
Camden police, fire and EMT personnel just need to show their badge or valid ID at our Ticket Office for their complimentary tour and vouchers for lunch.

On Saturday, May 11, Hands On History will be in the Officers’ Wardroom from 12pm to 2pm for guests touring the Battleship to learn if a concrete boat can float. Also, all guests can make their own aluminum boats to test out different boat designs.
Hands On History is free to experience with any tour of the Battleship.

This night, the girls are in charge!
Your Girl Scout troop is invited to a spend a fun, educational and totally cool night aboard the Battleship New Jersey! Our award-winning overnight encampment program features dinner and breakfast served from the chowline, a guided tour of the Battleship, and the opportunity to sleep in the bunks that the crew of the USS New Jersey once did!
Plus, girls can participate in a USO-style show, complete with performers and learn about how women helped build the Battleship during WWII. Girl Scouts will also get a “Women Serving Our Nation” patch!
Girls Only Nights are scheduled for Saturday, October 20, 2018 and Saturday, May 18, 2019.

Experience the amazing view of the Memorial Day Weekend fireworks over the Delaware River on Saturday, May 25 from the deck of the Battleship New Jersey!
For just a $10 donation per person, guests can come aboard the forecastle (forward deck) beginning at 7pm. We’ll have face painting for the kids, snacks for purchase and a beer, wine and soda cash bar. Enjoy the amazing fireworks over the river at approximately 9pm.

The Battleship remembers our military men and women who gave the ultimate sacrifice with a memorial service, conducted by the Bishop Eustace Knights of Columbus. The ceremony, which will take place on the forecastle (forward deck) and is free to attend, will include a live performance of TAPS and the casting of a memorial wreath into the Delaware River.

Experience an “adult-oriented” tour during the evening hours!
On Thursday, May 30, at 6pm, this adult tour, led by the Battleship’s Curator, will take guests off the public tour route and will showcase the more “adult-oriented” sailor art created over the years, as well as share some adult stories. Included in this tour is a cold beer or glass of wine – or soft drink – on the Main Deck Portside as we enjoy the skyline of Philadelphia at night!

This popular annual event, which is free to experience when you tour the Battleship, is hosted by the Battleship New Jersey Amateur Radio Station.

Veterans can meet representatives from animal shelters throughout the Delaware Valley on the fantail of the Battleship to explore and even adopt a pet that day. We’ll have dogs, cats and other pets for vets to meet and learn about adopting a pet. Admission to the fantail is free to veterans.
Guests touring the Battleship that day are welcome to enter the fantail and meet the pets and animal shelter personnel.
