As a thank you for the support from local unions, the Battleship will offer complimentary self-guided tours to union members on Labor Day, Sept. 3.
Union members need to show a valid ID at the Battleship Ticket Office for their complimentary tours.
The Battleship is open for tours every day from 9:30am through 5pm through Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 3. After the Labor Day, the Battleship will be open for tours every day from 9:30am to 3pm through Dec. 31.
The Battleship’s annual golf tournament will take place at Medford Lakes Country Club on Monday, Sept. 17.
The event will feature lunch, a cocktail reception, lots of prizes, an awards dinner and some great golf on a magnificent course. Plus all proceeds go to the on-going preservation of the Battleship, a non-profit museum and memorial.
Admission is a $185 donation. Register by July 1 and pay just $170!

Experience the adult-side of the Battleship during this Curator-led tour on Thursday, September 20 at 6pm. Adults will see sailor art, hear stories like the Playboy Bunny who visited the Battleship, and even enjoy a cold beer, glass of wine or soft drink on the deck at the end of the tour. The Battleship will welcome VIPs of the Rock Allegiance Music Festival on Saturday, Oct. 6. These special guests, who attend the concert featuring Limpbizkit and Papa Roach at the BB&T Pavilion, will get a complimentary tour of the Battleship throughout the day! We’ll also have food concessions and cash bars on the pier and fantail (tented rear deck). The Battleship will be open for VIPs from noon to 8pm.

The Battleship New Jersey will host a Civil War Navy Symposium on Saturday, Sept. 20 from 9am to 4:30pm. The event will include presentations on the Blue Water Navy and Brown Water Navy from Civil War historians, such as Dr. William M. Fowler Jr., Chuck Veil, Dr. Timothy B. Smith, and Dr. Gary D. Joiner. There will also be displays, living history exhibits, musical performances and lunch, all on the historic fantail (tented rear deck) of the Battleship.

Your Girl Scout troop is invited to a spend a fun, educational and totally cool night aboard the Battleship New Jersey! Our award-winning overnight encampment program features dinner and breakfast served from the chowline, a guided tour of the Battleship, and the opportunity to sleep in the bunks that the crew of the USS New Jersey once did!
Plus, girls can participate in a USO-style show, complete with performers and learn about how women helped build the Battleship during WWII. Girl Scouts will also get a “Women Serving Our Nation” patch!

The Battleship will hold a ceremony to commemorate the 35th anniversary of the bombing of the Marines Barracks in Beirut, Lebanon, where 241 American service members were killed, including USS New Jersey’s CPO Michael Gorchinski.
USS New Jersey veterans from the 1980s will recall the bombing and remember their ship mate in this free ceremony at 10am on Tuesday, Oct. 23, on the forecastle (forward deck) of the Battleship. A memorial wreath will be casted upon the Delaware River to remember the passing of Chief Gorchinski.

As a thank you to all the men and women who served our country, the Battleship will offer Fire Power tours to all veterans for any amount of a donation that they would like to make on Veterans Day, Sunday, Nov. 11.
We’ll also have classic cars on the pier of the Battleship for guests to check out on Veterans Day, as well as a free ceremony at 11am.

Bring in a new toy or game for an area family and you’ll get a 20% discount on a Fire Power Tour of the World’s Greatest Battleship! You may know the shopping day after Thanksgiving as Black Friday, but on the Battleship, we refer to Friday, Nov. 23 as Black Dragon Friday!
During WWII, because of the ship’s dark painted hull and when she fired her guns it looked like she was breathing fire, the Battleship earned the nickname “The Black Dragon.”
On Friday, Nov. 23, the Battleship Gift Shop will celebrate “Black Dragon Friday.” Guests will get an extra 10% off all purchases that day at the Gift Shop, open from 10am to 4pm. The Battleship will be open for tours on Black Dragon Friday from 9:30am to 3pm.
