Since the Battleship New Jersey will be closed indefinitely due to the coronavirus, the annual Vietnam War Living History Day, originally scheduled for Saturday, April 4, has been cancelled. We hope to reschedule this event for later this year. However, that will depend on how long this crisis continues.
In the meantime, please stay inside and be safe.

Did you know the Battleship can fly the flag over the ship on the day that you want?
Order an American Flag to fly over the Battleship on the ship’s website — https://www.battleshipnewjersey.org/product-category/flown-flag/ –and then email events@battleshipnewjersey.org and request the date that you want a flag flown.
The Flag will be flown on the ship’s main mast, folded and sent to the donor, along with a Certificate of Authenticity.. We’ll fly a 4’x6′ flag for a $62 donation or a 5’x8’ flag for a $100 donation, while supplies last.

To commemorate the 75th Anniversary of the End of World War II in Europe, join our Curator on May 8 at 6pm on Zoom for a special conversation about the War in Europe.

The Battleship New Jersey will join historic ships across the country by sounding the ship’s horn at 1300 hrs (1pm EDT) on Friday, May 22 to salute frontline healthcare workers!
Although the Battleship remains closed indefinitely for tours, people along the Camden Waterfront and Penn’s Landing, across the Delaware River, will hear the ship’s horn at 1pm on Friday, May 22.

The Battleship New Jersey Museum and Memorial will celebrate the 77th anniversary of her
commissioning into the U.S. Navy with a Facebook Live ceremony on her forecastle at 10am
on Saturday, May 23, which has been designated as Battleship New Jersey Day in the State
of New Jersey.
The Commissioning ceremony will feature Capt. Walt Urban, USN (ret), who once served
aboard the USS New Jersey. Capt. Urban will talk about the commissioning and history of the
USS New Jersey. Battleship volunteer Nan LaCorte will perform the bugle and play the
National Anthem, and TAPs as a memorial wreath is casted upon the Delaware River for fallen
shipmates. The ceremony will conclude with a salute from the Battleship’s 5-inch gun.
Since the Battleship remains closed for tours due to the coronavirus, the ceremony will be shown
on Facebook Live at www.facebook.com/BattleshipNJ.
Media members are invited to come aboard the forecastle (forward deck) for the ceremony. The
media members attending must wear a face covering and practice social distancing.

The Battleship New Jersey Museum and Memorial will remember our military heroes who gave
the ultimate sacrifice for our nation with a Facebook Live ceremony on Memorial Day, Monday,
May 25 at 10am.
The Memorial Day ceremony will feature an overview on the history and significance of Memorial
Day by Battleship Curator, Ryan Szimanski, and a talk on what Memorial Day means by Army
veteran and Director of Accounting for the Battleship, Mike Hayes. The ceremony will end with
the casting of a memorial wreath onto the Delaware River.

Bring Dad aboard our nation’s most decorated and largest battleship for Father’s Day, Sunday, June 21!
The Battleship New Jersey is offering the Hit the Deck exterior tour. This tour features the 16-inch gun turret, tomahawk missile launch boxes, Seasprite helicopters, some great views of the Philly skyline and more! Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for children 12 and under, seniors and veterans. All ticket purchases go to the on-going restoration and maintenance of the Battleship, a non-profit museum and memorial. Tickets can be purchased online at www.battleshipnewjersey.org/visit. Tickets are also available in the Ticket Office in the Visitors Center.
The Battleshop gift shop is also available and offers USS New Jersey hats, t-shirts, long-sleeve shirts and more! The Battleshop is open every day from 10am to 5pm in the Visitors Center.

Please note for for public safety, all guests must pass a health screening, wear a face covering at all times and practice social distancing of one fathom — six feet — when aboard the ship, in the Visitors Center and on the pier.

The Battleship’s signature tour — the Fire Power Tour — is back! The Fire Power self-guided tour will re-open for guests on Thursday, July 2,
Guests can experience the interior spaces of the Battleship again! Track a tomahawk missile in the Combat Engagement Center, look in at the engine rooms along Broadway, check out artifacts in the Exhibit area, climb into a bunk to learn what life was like aboard this floating city, and more! Tours will still include the exterior decks, with highlights like the 16-inch gun turret, the tomahawk missile launch boxes, the Seasprite helicopter and more. The interior of the Battleship is air conditioned and with the nice breezes off the Delaware River when you are outside on the exterior decks, the Battleship is a cool experience!
The Fire Power self-guided tour will be a timed tour to promote distance between guests touring the ship. All guests still must pass a health screening, which includes a contactless thermometer temperature check, in the Visitors Center before purchasing or redeeming their ticket. All guests must wear a face covering and practice social distancing of one fathom — six feet — in the Visitors Center and while touring the Battleship. The tour route of the Battleship, along with the Visitors Center, will be continuously cleaned and disinfected by the Battleship’s housekeeping personnel.
Fire Power self-guided tours will be available every day, beginning Thursday, July 2, from 10am with the last tour launching at 4pm.

As our gift for your patience during the quarantine, free parking is available along Clinton St. (GPS: 100 Clinton St., Camden, NJ) and in the Marina Parking lot.

On Saturday, August 1 on the hour from 11am to 3pm, a guest touring the Battleship will win the chance to pull the trigger of the portside saluting gun and render a salute to our great nation! We’ll announce the winner’s name over our 1MC (PA) system throughout the day. .
Or for a $50 donation, we’ll let you pull the trigger for your own salute whatever time you want on August 1.
The Battleship is open for tours from 10am to 3pm every day. Free parking along Clinton St.

Celebrate Victory in WWII with artifacts and re-enactors aboard our nation’s most decorated battleship on Saturday, Aug. 15, 10am to 3pm.
WWII re-enactors and artifacts will be on display in the Officers’ Wardroom, Admiral’s and Captain’s Cabins and in the Crew’s Mess. All WWII activities are along the Fire Power self-guided tour tour and can be experienced with the purchase of a tour.
Unfortunately, the Japanese Zero replica plane “attack” has been cancelled. But the Battleship will still fire her 5-inch gun and Quad 40 guns at 12pm on Saturday. In fact, a lucky guests touring the Battleship will be randomly chosen the fire the 5-inch gun! We’ll also fire the saluting gun throughout the day for a $50 donation!
