The U.S. Navy has announced it is bringing Navy Week to Philadelphia, PA, and Camden, NJ featuring 75 visiting sailors from across the nation, to volunteer throughout the community and discuss why the Navy matters to Philadelphia, from Monday, October 9 through Sunday, October 15, 2023. This marks the first time Philadelphia has hosted Navy Week since 2011.
The Battleship New Jersey will host the Navy Band on the forecastle (forward deck) as part of a Ceremony featuring the Mayor of Camden, Vic Carstarphen at 10:30am. The ceremony is free to attend.

The Battleship will celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the official creation of the Home Port Alliance for the USS New Jersey, Inc., the organization who was awarded the Battleship by the US Navy. with cake in the Officers’ Wardroom on Saturday, Nov. 4 at 11am. Guests touring the Battleship on Saturday are welcome to enjoy cake with the staff and volunteers of the Battleship!
The Battleship New Jersey, a non-profit museum and memorial, offer self-guided tours everyday from 10am to 4pm and guided tours daily at 12pm. The Battleship also offers educational programs, student tours, overnight and event space for meetings and social affairs. The Battleship New Jersey will celebrate Veterans Day, Saturday, Nov. 11, by offering self-guided tours for a donation of any amount to veterans. Just check in at our Ticket Office inside the Visitors Center. The Battleship is open for tours everyday from 10am to 4pm.
The Battleship will also hold a ceremony on the ship’s forecastle (forward deck) to honor all veterans on Saturday, Nov. 11 at 11am. The ceremony, which will feature keynote remarks from Col. Ted Gallagher, the Director of Military Affairs at Camden County, NJ, is free for all to attend.

The Battleship New Jersey will honor our veterans with a ceremony on the forecastle (forward deck) of the Battleship at 11am on Saturday, November 11.
The ceremony, which will be emceed by Capt. Walt Urban USN (Ret.), will feature remarks by Col. Ted Gallagher USA (Ret.), the Director of Camden County Veteran Affairs. Battleship volunteer Nan LaCorte will perform the National Anthem and TAPS on bugle. A memorial wreath will be casted upon the Delaware River as the ship salutes our veterans with a blast of her guns.
The ceremony is free to attend.
The Battleship is proud to be a Drop Off point for WMMR’s Preston & Steve’s Camp Out for Hunger 2023. The Camp Out will run from Monday, Nov. 13th to Friday, Nov. 17th at Xfinity Live, inside the Wells Fargo Center complex.
We encourage everyone from throughout the Delaware Valley to donate food items during the Camp Out. All items will go to Philabundance to help those in need in our area.

Only boxes, cans, plastic containers or non-breakable jars and which do not have to be refrigerated can be collected.

- Potato chips, cookies and other unhealthy snacks
- Seasonal Items (i.e. cranberry sauce, pumpkin pie mix, peppermint flavored items, holiday themed items)
- Bread and baked goods (which go bad quickly)
If you are not able to make it out this year, you can donate right at the register of your local Acme Market. The Acme Head Start Program this year will run through Campout, and end on Wednesday, Nov. 22nd.

EVENING ENGINE ROOM GUIDED TOUR
Descend into the armored citadel of the ship for a 90-minute, family friendly, guided, walking tour of the most powerful engineering plant ever installed on a battleship. Learn how steam powered engines moved the massive ship at record breaking speeds and see the spaces crew members worked in. This hands-on walking tour is fun for all ages and allows guests to climb down seven stories into a fire room to see the huge boilers, an engine room to see the turbines and throttle wheels, and a one of the ship’s many steering positions.
$40 donation per adult.
