The Battleship New Jersey hosts many private and public events on the ship.
Check out what public events are coming up on our calendar.

The Battleship will honor Ensign Louis Ivey and Admiral Paul Reason for Hands On History in February.
Ensign Ivey was initially assigned to the boiler division. Visitors can hold a fuel nozzle from one of the ship’s boiler rooms. One of those boiler rooms is on the Engineering Steam to Speed Tour that launches every Saturday and Sunday at 11:00. Ivey was later the division officer for the New Jersey’s radiomen, so we have a Gibson Girl Radio like the one that would have been on the ship with Ivey during the 1950s.
Admiral Reason, who led Battle Group Romeo from the Battleship in the 1980s, later wrote a book called Sailing New Seas about naval tactics that visitors can look through. The cruisebook from 1989 that includes Reason, is also on display.

In February’s program, especially designed for our preschool audience, learn about electricity!

The American Red Cross New Jersey Region will be holding a ceremony and flag raising aboard the Battleship New
Jersey on Sunday, March 1 at 12pm to kick off March is Red Cross Month in New Jersey. The Battleship New Jersey will fly the Red Cross flag
and be illuminated at night in red lights throughout March to honor all those who have made the humanitarian mission
of the Red Cross possible.
March has been recognized as Red Cross Month for more than 75 years. Beginning with President Franklin D. Roosevelt
in 1943, every U.S. President has designated March as Red Cross Month to recognize how the American Red Cross helps
people across the country and around the world.
The Honorable Donald Norcross, U.S. Representative, NJ 1st Congressional District, will be the keynote speaker. Also scheduled to speak are
Brigadier General Patrick M. Kennedy, Assistant Adjutant General Air; NJ National Guard, and Captain William R. Sherrod, Commanding Officer,
Naval Support Activity, Lakehurst; Deputy Commander, JB MDL. The Battleship New Jersey Sea Cadets will present colors, while the
National Anthem will be performed on trumpet by 13-year-old Aidan Peterson. The Philadelphia Fire Department Marine Unit Fire Boat will be off
the port of the ship.

On Saturday, March 14 at 10am in the Officers’ Wardroom aboard the Battleship New Jersey, military families and veterans are invited to attend a presentation by Karen Jennings and the work of the Military Support Group of New Jersey, Inc. (MSGNJ) and how they can assist the families of military personnel. Ms. Jennings, a resident of Stratford, NJ, founded the MSGNJ in 2004 when her son deployed to Iraq for the first of three tours.
The event is free to attend. Guests attending the presentation can get a 20% discount on a Fire Power self-guided tour of the Battleship. Just check in at the Battleship’s Ticket Office on March 14.
