Camden Fire, Police and EMT personnel and their families can enjoy a complimentary tour of the Battleship from 9:30am to 3pm on Sunday, April 22. We’ll also offer a lunch on the fantail for Camden public service personnel from noon to 3pm. Lunch is possible through contributions by Andreotti’s Catering, Dietz & Watson and Pepsi.

On May 23, 1943, the USS New Jersey was commissioned into the United State Navy at the Philadelphia Navy Yard.  The Battleship will celebrate the 75th anniversary of her Commissioning with a ceremony on the forecastle (forward deck) at 10am on May 23. This event will feature key remarks from regional dignitaries and USS New Jersey veterans.  The Battleship will formally dedicate the recently re-installed Quad 40 Gun.  We’ll also have live music, including a rendition of TAPS by Battleship volunteer and bugler Nan Lacorte, a memorial wreath casting, and even cake for all guests as part of the morning’s activities.

The ceremony is free to attend.

Veteran Pet Adoption Day Aboard the Battleship @ Battleship New Jersey  | Camden | New Jersey | United States

Veterans can meet representatives from animal shelters throughout the Delaware Valley on the fantail of the Battleship to explore and even adopt a pet that day.  We’ll have dogs, cats and other pets for vets to meet and learn about adopting a pet.   Admission to the fantail is free to veterans.

Guests touring the Battleship that day are welcome to enter the fantail and meet the pets and animal shelter personnel.

To take advantage of the nice weather forecasted for later this week, the Battleship will open for Fire Power tours on Wednesday, March 10, and Thursday, March 11, from 11am to 3pm. These special tour days are in addition to the ship being open Saturdays and Sundays in March.

Now there are more days for you to climb inside the massive 16-imch gun turret, track a tomahawk missile launch in the Combat Engagement Center, learn how the crew lived aboard this floating city and more!

All guests must pass a health screening which includes a contactless temperature check, wear a face mask and practice social distancing of one fathom — six feet.
