Guests can see the stars from the decks of the Battleship! You’ll also see planets and some satellites too! The Battleship will be one of the sites of The Philadelphia Science Festival’s Citywide Star Party on Friday, April 28 from 7:30pm to 9:30pm. See the stars, planets and satellites through telescopes on the forecastle (forward deck) of the Battleship during this free event. Parking on Clinton St. will also be free.
Enjoy a Dietz & Watson hot dog for just $1! We are celebrating National Hot Dog Day tomorrow, Wednesday, July 19, on the Battleship New Jersey with hot dogs for $1 at the Chowline, open for lunch from 11:30am to 2pm.
Experience the Chowline as part of a tour of the World’s Greatest Battleship, open for tours every day from 9:30am to 5pm.
The Battleship New Jersey will host a Civil War Navy Symposium on Saturday, Sept. 20 from 9am to 4:30pm. The event will include presentations on the Blue Water Navy and Brown Water Navy from Civil War historians, such as Dr. William M. Fowler Jr., Chuck Veil, Dr. Timothy B. Smith, and Dr. Gary D. Joiner. There will also be displays, living history exhibits, musical performances and lunch, all on the historic fantail (tented rear deck) of the Battleship.
