Battleship’s Camden Student Sponsorship Awards Dinner

DETAILS:     The Battleship New Jersey Museum and Memorial will host her annual

Camden Resident Student Scholarship Awards Ceremony on Thursday,

June 7 at 6pm in the Battleship’s Officers Wardroom.

 

The Hon. Frank Moran, Mayor of Camden, is expected to present scholarship

awards to 10 Camden resident students. Each of these 10 students, all Camden,

NJ residents, have been selected by their respective schools; one from each of

the eight secondary schools in Camden, plus one student from Camden County

College and one student from Rutgers University Camden.

 

“It’s an honor to recognize these exceptional students and be able them as they

Begin the new phase of their academic careers,” said Dennis Levitt, member

of the Board of Trustees for the Battleship New Jersey.  “These Camden students

have been rewarded by their teachers for their academic successes and we are

extremely happy to support them.”

 

The students receiving scholarships from the Battleship include:

  • Viante O. Brewer, of Leap Academy

 

  • Nino A. Class – Woodrow Wilson High School

 

  • Ruth F. Germosen of Camden Acadme High School

 

  • Kianna D. Graddy of Rutgers University, Camden

 

  • Shakira D. Hampton of Camden County College

 

  • Naseer D. Jefferson of Rowan University

 

  • Gloria A. Perez-Mateo of Camden Big Picture Learning Academy/MetEast High School

 

  • Tatiana Maxwell of Creative Morgan Village Academy

 

  • Jennifer Zamora of Camden Catholic High School

 

As a Camden, New Jersey- based institution, the Battleship New Jersey Museum and

Memorial is committed to furthering the educational aspirations of Camden resident

students.  A key part of the Battleship’s mission is to provide positive benefits and to

educate students and residents of her homeport of Camden.

 

Berthed on the Camden Waterfront across the Delaware River from Philadelphia, the

Battleship New Jersey Museum and Memorial is a non-profit historic ship museum

that offers tours every day. Have a Blast aboard the Battleship! The annual Battleship

fundraising dinner – the Blast Luau — will take place on Saturday, June 30 at 7:00pm.

Guests will enjoy a delicious Hawaiian-themed meal, Hawaiian dancing and music

and the amazing view of the fireworks over the Delaware River at dusk!  Tickets are
