The Battleship New Jersey, our nation’s most decorated battleship and now a museum and memorial,
will host The VetFriendly Jobs Initiative Career Fair on the historic fantail – tented rear deck – on
Wednesday, Oct. 10 from 10am to 2pm.
Thirty-five leading companies from the Delaware Valley will participate in the hiring event on October 10,
including CIT Group, Wawa, Beneficial Bank, Cintas, Cooper University Health, JPMorgan Chase,
Performace Food Service, Advanced Disposal, Crozer Keystone Health System, Airgas, B. Braun Medical,
Bechtel Plant Machinery, CBRE, Independence Health group, L-3 Technologies, McMaster-Carr, Penn
Power Group, Sallie Mae, Septa, Success Academies, Transportation Security Administration (TSA),
University of Pennsylvania, SugarHouse Casino, Urban Engineers, Philadelphia Police, United States
Postal Service, Accenture, Episource, Waste Management, New Jersey State Police, Jones & Frank, Ball
Metalpack, Sterling Limousine, ECFMG, and Mission BBQ. Veterans will not only get to meet HR
officials from these companies, but they will also enjoy a free lunch, compliments of Wawa, get a
professional photograph and can win prizes, included a limo trip to an Eagles game!
The VetFriendly Jobs Initiative (VFJI) is crisscrossing the country to host hiring events, and to connect
veterans and employers who are passionate about hiring them. To date, more than 40,000 veterans and
military spouses have found rewarding careers with the companies who are supporting the initiative.
VFJI is free for companies to join, provided they are willing to report how many veterans they hire each
quarter, and meet the initiative requirements.
The hiring event takes place on October 10, 2018, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM EST. Service members,
guard/reservists, veterans, and military spouses are required to register to attend by visiting the website

The VetFriendly Jobs Initiative is a coalition of veteran passionate, leading companies who share the
belief that veterans and military spouses represent the best and brightest talent that all companies would
benefit from seeking out to fill their vacancies. The collective group of companies is committed to hiring
at least 100,000 veterans and military spouses by 2020
Located on the Delaware River, along the Camden Waterfront across from the city of Philadelphia, the
Battleship is open for guided and audio tours every day from 9:30am to 3pm. The annual Suds & Stogies
at the ship, featuring holiday craft beer and fine cigars, will take place on Saturday, Nov. 10 from 1pm to
5pm. Adults can enjoy a tour of the Battleship, live classic rock music, delicious food and sample craft
