Battleship To Defend Japanese Plane Attack During WWII Victory Day, Sat., Aug. 10

New This Year:  Air Defenses Re-enactment Against Japanese Zero Plane Attack

PLACE:         Battleship New Jersey, Camden Waterfront, NJ

DETAILS:     Guests touring the Battleship New Jersey Museum and Memorial on Saturday, August 10 will

not only experience how life was like aboard our nation’s most decorated and largest

Battleship, but they will also experience World War II artifacts in the Officers’ Wardroom,

encounter WWII re-enactors throughout the ship, and can also enjoy a delicious BBQ lunch

with live 1940s music and dancing!

New this year:  The Battleship will fire her 5-inch gun and Quad 40 gun in defense of an

air attack by two WWII Japanese Zero replica planes.  The planes are actually Tora 101

propeller planes that will do several passes by the Battleship.  Guests aboard the ship can

watch the planes attack as the Battleship fire her guns from the fantail (rear deck) beginning

at 11:30am on Saturday, August 10.

The attack re-enactment, artifacts displays and WWII re-enactors are free to experience with a paid

tour of the Battleship, or with a ticket to the annual WWII Victory Day lunch from noon to 3pm on

the fantail.  The lunch will feature a delicious BBQ meal and offer a cash bar.  We’ll also have the

1940 sounds of Drew Nugent & the Midnight Society Band, as well as the dancing of the Olde City

Sweethearts.

Guests can purchase a WWII Victory Day Lunch ticket in advance for $30 for adults and

$24 for children 12 and under.  The tickets also includes a Fire Power tour of the Battleship.

Tickets are available online at www.battleshipnewjersey.org or by calling 866-877-6262 x108.

The lunch will take place from noon to 3pm on the fantail (tented rear deck).  Guests touring the
