Battleship Salutes Veterans on Veterans Day November 7, 2023

PLACE:         Battleship New Jersey Museum and Memorial

DETAILS:     The Battleship New Jersey will salute all veterans this Veterans Day, Saturday, Nov. 11,

with self-guided tours on Saturday for a donation of any amount.  Further, any veteran

who wants to upgrade to the Noon guided tour, can also make a donation of any amount

and a $10 upgrade donation.  But hurry!  Guided tours at 12pm will sell out fast.

 

The Battleship will also conduct a ceremony on the forecastle (forward deck) at 11am on

Veterans Day.  The ceremony, emceed by Capt. Walt Urban USN (Ret.), the Battleship’s

Military Liaison Officer, will feature keynote remarks by Col. Ted Gallagher USA (Ret.),

Director, Military Affairs, Camden County, and H. M. Chief Methuselah Z. O. Bradley, IV,

International Chair of the Congressional Black Caucus Veterans Braintrust.  Volunteer

Nan LaCorte will perform TAPS on bugle as a memorial wreath is casted upon the Delaware

River.  The Battleship will fire a salute to all veterans from her portside 5-inch gun.

 

The ceremony is free to attend.

Berthed on the Camden Waterfront along the Delaware River, the Battleship New Jersey Museum

and Memorial offers self-guided tours everyday, including Thanksgiving and Christmas, from 10am

4pm, and guided tours daily at 12pm.  Families can enjoy a hot breakfast served from the chowline and

kids can meet and get their photo with Santa Claus during our annual Breakfast with Santa, Dec. 9 at
