The Battleship will open for Fire Power and Turret II tours on Saturday, Feb. 3. The museum ship will open on Saturdays, Sundays and Presidents Day, Monday, Feb. 19, from 9:30am to 3pm throughout the month of February. The Battleship will open every day for tours beginning March 1.
Fire Power audio tours are available throughout the day. These 90-minute tours showcase the ship’s weapons systems — including the 16-inch gun turrets and the Tomahawk missile launchpads, and depict how the crew lived aboard this floating city. It’s the perfect initial tour for someone who has not been aboard the Battleship before. Tickets can be purchased online at www.battleshipnewjersey.org or call 866-877-6262 ext. 108 or purchase at the Ticket Office.
The Turret II guided tours depart at 11am on Saturdays and Sundays. This tour, which is also approximately 90 minutes, takes guests five decks to the bottom of the massive 16-inch gun turret. Along the way, guests will hoist projectiles, load powder bags, plot a firing solution on a working analog computer and even pull the trigger to simulate the firing of the big gun. Guests will complete their tour with a walk down Broadway, the longest and most interesting passageway on the ship. Groups are limited to 15 guests and we recommend purchasing tickets in advance of your tour date. To buy Turret II tickets, visit www.battleshipnewjersey or call 866-877-6262 ext. 108.
The Battleship is non-profit museum and memorial. All revenue generated by ticket sales — as well as overnights, group tours, private events and sponsorships — goes to the on-going preservation of our nation’s most decorated and largest battleship.
