Battleship Offers Unique Gifts for the Holidays

CAMDEN WATERFRONT, NJ – Dec. 17, 2018 – Still searching for that unique gift for this Holiday
Season? Have no fear ! The Battleship New Jersey Museum and Memorial, berthed at the Camden
Waterfront, NJ, offers unique gifts – from overnights to fireworks to tours to merchandise – that are
sure to excite anyone this Holiday Season!

How about bringing your family for a sleepover aboard the Battleship? Our award-winning Overnight
Program features dinner and breakfast served at the Chowline, a guided tour of the ship, the chance to
fire the ship’s saluting gun and the opportunity to sleep in the same bunks that the crew of the USS
New Jersey once did! Overnights takes place nearly every weekend through the end of June. The
price per person for an overnight aboard the Battleship is $69.

A very special overnight will happen on New Year’s Eve! Families can spend the First Night of 2019
overnight on the Battleship. You’ll still get the great amenities when you spend the night, plus you’ll
get an amazing view of the Midnight Fireworks over the Delaware River. The price for this special

For those who cannot spend the night, but love fireworks, the Battleship will open her decks for guests
to enjoy the unique view of the SugarHouse New Year’s Fireworks over the Waterfront. The Battleship
will be open for both the 6pm and Midnight fireworks shows. The ship will have music, food concessions
and bar service for both shows, as well as face painting for the kids prior the 6pm fireworks. The ship will
Open two hours before the fireworks begin. Just a $10 donation per person gets you aboard. For New

Some of our newest items include a BB-62 pewter ornament featuring the massive 16” guns, a custom
Zippo lighter commemorating the ship’s 1943 launch, a custom snow globe depicting USS New Jersey in
the rough seas of Typhoon Cobra in 1944, and a likeness of the little Dachshund, Heiny, who lived aboard
ship in Captain McCorkle’s At-Sea Cabin during the 1950’s.

Finally, tours of our nation’s most decorated and largest battleship are always a good gift! The Fire Power
audio tour, which takes place daily, except for Christmas Day, from 9:30am to 3pm through Dec. 31, and
on weekends in January and February, allows guests to Touch History! Climb inside the legendary 16-inch
gun turret, track a tomahawk missile launch in the Combat Engagement Center, learn how the sailors lived
aboard this floating city and more! Audio devices describe areas along the tour route, include narration
from former crew members and even have sound effects!

The guided Turret II Tour launches on Saturdays and Sundays at 11am. This 90-minute tour takes guests
five decks for the bottom of this massive 16-inch gun turret. Along the way, you’ll hoist projectiles, load
powder bags, plot a firing solution and even pull the trigger to simulate the firing Of the gun. Complete
your tour with a walk down Broadway.

A gift for the ultimate Battleship fan is the Curator’s Behind-the-Scenes Tour. Explore areas not currently
on the public tour route, including parts of Broadway and the Engine rooms. Hear the inside story on the
history of the ship, direct from the Curator. This tour can be scheduled any day and time for a maximum
of 10 guests. The price is a $500 donation for the group.
