BATTLESHIP NEW JERSEY HOSTS ARMY V. NAVY IN TUG-OF-WAR

DETAILS: The Battleship New Jersey will host the Army Cadets against Navy Midshipmen in the best of three
Tug-of-War challenge on the ship’s pier at 3pm on Friday, Dec. 7. The free event, which is one of
the five competitive challenges in the annual Patriot Games, also features Bands and Spirit Squads
from each academy.

Guest can also tour the Battleship before 2pm and then stay aboard to watch the event from the
ship’s decks.

The annual Patriot Games will kick off the 119th Army-Navy Game Weekend. Other Patriot Games
events include the Rocky Relay up the famed steps of the Philadelphia Museum of Art and the spirit-filled
Army-Navy Pep Rally. Friday’s events will also include the unveiling of the city’s newest mural,
highlighting the storied history and tradition of America’s Game in Philadelphia.

Day 1 of the Patriot Games includes:
• The Rocky Relay @ 8:30 AM, on the steps of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, 26th and Benjamin
Franklin Parkway (Open to Public)
• Leadership Reaction Course @ 10:00 AM, Independence Visitor Center, Market Street between
5th and 6th (Open to Public)
• Pull-Up Challenge @ Noon, The Shops at Liberty Place, 16th & Chestnut Streets (Open to Public)
• Tug of War @ 3:00 PM, Battleship New Jersey, Camden Waterfront, NJ

• Army-Navy Gala @ 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM, Pennsylvania Convention Center, is a ticketed event featuring
a Battle of the Bands and attended by more than 1,200 guests including both Academies’ Superintendents,
Athletic Directors, and additional VIPs.

Media is invited to take shots of the event and gather general Gala B-Roll from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A short
program will begin at 8:15 p.m., emceed by Eagles’ Hall of Famer Ron Jaworski.
