BATTLESHIP NEW JERSEY HONORS ALL VETERANS ON VETERANS DAY, NOV. 11

DETAILS: The Battleship New Jersey will honor all veterans with special activities on Veterans Day, Sunday,
November 11.

As a thank you to all the men and women who served our country, the Battleship will offer Fire Power
tours to all veterans for any amount of a donation that they would like to make on Veterans Day,
Sunday, Nov. 11. The ship will be open for tours from 9:30am to 3pm on Veterans Day.

We’ll also have classic cars, courtesy of the Gas Guzzlers Car Club, on the pier of the Battleship for
guests to check out on Veterans Day.

The Big J will also salute all veterans with a free ceremony on the Forecastle at 11am. The ceremony
will feature the Emerald Society Pipes and Drums and remarks from Dr. Patrick Murray of Valley Forge
Military Academy. The Battleship bugler, volunteer Nan LaCorte, will participate in the “Sounds of
Remembrance,” which is calling all buglers worldwide to play TAPS at precisely 11am (local time) on
Nov. 11 to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the signing of the Armistice, ending WWI. The
Battleship will also cast a memorial wreath upon the Delaware River to remember all our veterans who
have passed.

On a more celebratory note, the Battleship’s second annual Suds & Stogies craft beer and fine cigars
event will take place on the fantail and the pier on Saturday, Nov. 10 from 1pm to 5pm. Guests can
enjoy holiday craft beer samples and everyone will get a cigar, as well as have the opportunity to purchase
cigars. Guests will also get tours of the Battleship and can enjoy live music. Further, the Donkey’s
Place Food Truck will be serving up their famous cheesesteaks on the pier on Saturday! Tickets are a

The Battleship, a non-profit museum and memorial, will be open for tours on Veterans Day, Sunday,
Nov. 11, from 9:30am to 3pm.
