The Battleship New Jersey is a fun, educational and totally cool place for scouts and students to visit for a few hours or overnight.
In addition to all of the terrific tour packages we offer, scouts and students can also customize their visit by adding on special features.

Docent guided Tours: A 90 minute journey through American history. Our knowledgeable docents will take your group through the battleship's legendary 16" gun turrets, the Admiral & Captain's cabins, Communications & Command centers, Navigational bridge, wardroom, berthing areas and so much more. On tour, you will learn about the critical role that the Battleship New Jersey played in World War II, Korea, Vietnam & the Middle East.

Student/Scouts/Adults are only $7 per person. For every 10 students/scouts paid, you will receive 1 complimentary adult.

Scavenger Hunt:
This hunt will take your group deeper into our incredible museum exhibits. Each exhibit area has 2 questions & the answers are to be found by paying close attention to what they see and read. Recommended for ages 8-17. Adults are free to help children. Cost- additional $2 per person with group tour ticket.

"I Was There" Veteran Interaction:
History comes alive during the "I Was There" program! Suitable for groups of 20-50 people, this unique experience gives your students the chance to meet and interact with a veteran of the United States armed forces. In this 40-minute program, participants will learn first-hand what military life was like and will have the opportunity to question a veteran on a broad variety of topics.
Recommended for ages 8-17. Price does not include tour fee.

4-D Flight Simulator:
Fly into combat and return as a hero! In this spectacular, 8-minute adventure, your group will pilot a Seahawk prop plane as it is launched from the Battleship — just as it was during World War II. Riders will engage in a dogfight over Iwo Jima, avoid enemy anti-aircraft fire, and return safely to the sea next to the Battleship.
Must be at least 38" to ride. Price does not include tour fee.

Overnight Encampment:
Spend a night on the Battleship New Jersey! Come aboard....chow down....bunk up....live like a sailor! Ideal for Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, our Overnight Encampment program provides your group with memories to last a lifetime.
During this overnight adventure, participants will have a terrific time as they enjoy:
- a delicious catered dinner and breakfast served "Navy style" in the original Crew's Mess Deck
- a behind-the-scenes guided tour of the Battleship
- exploring the extensive on-board museum exhibitions and artifacts
- sleeping in the original enlisted sailors' bunks
- a ride on the 4-D Flight Simulator
- participating in a safety briefing and fire drill
- morning and evening flag ceremonies
- and much more!
For Boy Scout troops, we also offer (at no additional cost) badge work opportunities in American Heritage, Emergency Preparedness, First Aid and Radio — all led by our own certified Merit Badge Counselors.
For Girl Scouts, including Daisies, Brownies, Juniors, Cadets and Seniors, we also offer special "girls only" encampments where participants earn the new "Women Serving Our Nation" Try-IT/Badge. In addition to all of the features noted above, our "girls only" encampments also include a live USO-style show and even a live, interactive session with a female code breaker from World War II! For all encampment programs, we can accommodate groups of all sizes, up to 300. The minimum group size is 2 (one adult and one child between the ages of 6 and 17).
