The Battleship Salutes Greta Zimmer Friedman, Nurse from the WWII Times Square Kiss

The Battleship remembers Greta Zimmer Friedman, the nurse from the iconic Times Square kiss, celebrating victory in World War II.  Ms. Friedman passed away on Sept. 8 at the age of 92.

Ms. Friedman’s kiss was captured in the sculpture, “Embracing Peace, ” created by Seward Johnson.  One of the sculptures sits on the pier of the Battleship and can be viewed with a tour of the Big J.
